Dunkirk, Lady Bird and Phantom Thread would be in the running.

More than half the nominees don't belong anywhere near a top 10 list. I don't consider The Shape of Water, Get Out, Call Me By Your Name, Darkest Hour and The Post as even close to worthy of consideration for Best Film.

Instead, The Big Sick, Baby Driver, All The Money In The World, The Last Jedi and Blade Runner 2049 are my among my other contenders.aceblackblog.https://www.blogger.com/profile/08404695143187261837noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3166297507174717122.post-29119580051079898182019-09-11T14:08:42.818-05:002019-09-11T14:08:42.818-05:00Right--same. In my list, I have The Shape of Water at #2 while the only film that was nominated is The Post as I've haven't seen anything Spielberg has done since that one Indy movie we shall not speak of. Then there's The Darkest Hour as I saw some of it and it bored the hell out of me. thevoid99https://www.blogger.com/profile/03055459287396592446noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3166297507174717122.post-38871156575711034642019-09-09T19:50:51.189-05:002019-09-09T19:50:51.189-05:00Looking over your Best Picture list at a glance, t...Looking over your Best Picture list at a glance, the only years you haven't done one of these on are the three with lost or nearly-lost nominees (and 2018 of course). 1929's The Patriot is indeed a lost film, with only a few stills and snippets of footage known to currently exist, so you can probably go ahead and pull the trigger on that one if you wanna. 1934's The White Parade only exists as a single copy in the UCLA Film Archive, so unless you've got a trip to L.A. in the future where you can stop by there, that one's out of reach as well.

Which leaves 1931's East Lynne, another film that the UCLA Film Archive has, but which also exists on the internet as a bootleg rip that's missing the final reel. I think I messaged or emailed you at some point in the past that I am still holding onto a copy of that bootleg, and that I'd be more than happy to send it to you so you can complete this category (more or less); that offer still stands, if you can figure out a good way for me to get it to you. Let me know what options you've considered if you still want a copy of that one.Adolytsihttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12266038228108057617noreply@blogger.com
