You're dead on with the technical sequences--I found them fascinating, and despite the fact that many of them were sort of the same thing over and over, I never got tired of seeing them. It was like watching a really good magic trick over and over, looking for when the magician uses misdirection to pull something out of his pocket.SJHoneywellhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13550007053995112090noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3166297507174717122.post-60584083666474550202013-02-08T20:18:58.629-06:002013-02-08T20:18:58.629-06:00There are some Bresson films I like more than this...There are some Bresson films I like more than this, but there are a lot of wonderful moments in this film. Yes, I think it could be seen as repetitive, but that one sequence where he and the other two men rob passengers on the train is a great bit of suspenseful and exciting film-making. I think it proves that whether or not you like Bresson's style, he's able to craft some amazing technical sequences.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3166297507174717122.post-27007438300438003732013-02-06T12:24:24.748-06:002013-02-06T12:24:24.748-06:00While that's almost certainly true, I think he...While that's almost certainly true, I think he'd very much be someone who would reward investigating, in no small part because he'd be almost entirely new to you.

But I get where you're coming from. The more films I see, the more I realize that there's still a ton for me to see. Every step forward comes with a concomitant two steps back.SJHoneywellhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13550007053995112090noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3166297507174717122.post-90922314903745106352013-02-06T09:15:51.178-06:002013-02-06T09:15:51.178-06:00Possibly. It's still the only Bresson movie that I've seen, but I really enjoyed it. It does have a slow pace, but it's such a fascinating movie.
