Both of them would have been very worthy winners for this.

I do agree that Apollo 13 is the right choice for Best Picture.SJHoneywellhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13550007053995112090noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3166297507174717122.post-78626932873964458722020-06-09T11:29:58.871-05:002020-06-09T11:29:58.871-05:00I'm in more or less the same place as you are ...I'm in more or less the same place as you are the difference being I was relatively sure when I walked into Sense and Sensibility I would love it.

I'm a sucker for that kind of film but like all things they can be variable. I felt a bit more secure with this one considering the cast and director though that thinking can bite you as it did when I went to see Ang Lee's The Ice Storm (Good Lord how I hated that movie!!!!)

Anyway S&S is top flight across the board but I'm also a huge fan of Apollo 13. Like you even though I knew the outcome I was totally involved and on the edge of my seat when I saw it in the theatre. Now some of that is the screenplay but I think that's more thanks to Ron Howard's presentation and the acting.

So with all that said I think I'd go with Sense and Sensibility's screenplay and Apollo 13 for Best Picture. joel65913https://www.blogger.com/profile/14526657073681774683noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3166297507174717122.post-74343910341861728252020-06-09T10:34:23.550-05:002020-06-09T10:34:23.550-05:00I really don't object at all to the win for Se...I really don't object at all to the win for Sense and Sensibility. It's a very good screenplay and a very good film, and while Apollo 13 is my default 1995 choice, I can't say I'm upset for this category.SJHoneywellhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13550007053995112090noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3166297507174717122.post-51665857773496028762020-06-08T18:22:10.255-05:002020-06-08T18:22:10.255-05:00I'm going to say that the Oscars got it right ...I'm going to say that the Oscars got it right though I have no problem with Apollo 13 winning that prize. I'm totally with you on Twelve Monkeys being overlooked as I would like to make the case for A Little Princess that was directed by Alfonso Cuaron as it's a damn good children's film.thevoid99https://www.blogger.com/profile/03055459287396592446noreply@blogger.com
