Salo is a film that will d...That's fair enough. <i>Salo</i> is a film that will divide people pretty quickly. I can understand appreciating it for what it is, and I really did try. I just couldn't get past it. <br /><br />There's a difference between appreciating something and enjoying it, though. Harsh. On my side, I really tried to understa...Wow. Harsh. On my side, I really tried to understand the point Pasolini was making and in learning that point it made the film more palpable. Pasolini was raging against fascism, because it also was a vile and gross thing to him. I 'got' Salo, I dare say I even appreciated it on that level, it was, for what it was, well crafted. That being said, in the end you and I can still be friends because I also had very many issues with it and really didn't fundamentally like it.
