What was happening may well have been a shock a minute experience for those of us just learning everything, but for Snowden, what was happening almost certainly couldn't happen fast enough, and the film captures that.

I wasn't confused--I thought most of what was going on was explained for hte layman pretty well. So excited... and then so horribly let down. We enjoyed the topic, Snowden, and all that. But how the movie was handled left us perplexed. The movie moves soooo slooowwww, often because of bizarre editing choices. Lots of long, lingering shots of nothing. The entire movie also speaks in nothing but jargon, leaving us confused the majority of the time. Though the scene where the fire alarm goes off repeatedly was really good.

Again, we appreciate the topic and really liked the idea behind this film. But the film itself just didn't feel as if it had been filmed to its best.Nickhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08092564511948736386noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3166297507174717122.post-90586129769385236262015-09-28T18:37:56.883-05:002015-09-28T18:37:56.883-05:00Something I didn't mention above--my wife walk...Something I didn't mention above--my wife walked in when I was about 20 minutes in, and she stayed for the rest of it. She doesn't often do that with movies that I watch, which makes this addtionally notable. There's no need for anything additional because what's being talked about is so extraordinary. It's rare that a movie where no action happens is this gripping, but it really is this gripping.SJHoneywellhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13550007053995112090noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3166297507174717122.post-8974962098562719952015-09-28T09:26:13.951-05:002015-09-28T09:26:13.951-05:00I agree with most everything you wrote. I was frankly stunned to only find out as I was watching the film that there had been someone with Snowden, interviewing him as the stories were breaking. This was an amazing behind the scenes look at what was going on. I agree that the film goes a long way towards humanizing Snowden. And even though I knew he would eventually end up in Russia I still felt tension in the early part of the film because both Snowden and the few people taking his story were all legitimately wondering what was going to happen to them. Were they going to end up in jail, or even worse?

You recently wrote about Man on Wire and that there is a movie version of it coming soon with Joseph Gordon-Levitt as Petit. By coincidence,.Gordon-Levitt also had a film coming where he plays Snowden. It was going to be a late 2015 release for the Oscars but it's now been pushed into 2016.Chip Laryhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00787403805554027107noreply@blogger.com
