At this point, I'd pretty much watch anything with him in it at least once.SJHoneywellhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13550007053995112090noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3166297507174717122.post-9739775651095438742017-10-09T01:13:06.944-05:002017-10-09T01:13:06.944-05:00Force of Evil is right up my alley! I think the miss for me was a combination of the lack of passion and that the misfortunes of Cora and Frank look more like fumbles than design. It is not a bad film, but I was not near as excited about it as you were.TSorensenhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12208153011927807857noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3166297507174717122.post-89284938434399084082014-02-01T08:21:32.834-06:002014-02-01T08:21:32.834-06:00I'm adding that to my growing list of films I ...I'm adding that to my growing list of films I need to see. There are plenty of noirs that ramp up the sex, but I'll admit that Postman feels a bit cold at times. Or a bit forced. Maybe the chemistry just isn't there enough.SJHoneywellhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13550007053995112090noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3166297507174717122.post-6022666300688956282012-01-05T20:52:19.967-06:002012-01-05T20:52:19.967-06:00I've seen both versions of The Postman Always ...I've seen both versions of The Postman Always Rings Twice. I saw the remake first, so that may have lessened the impact when I finally saw the original. The remake got its reputation for steaminess really from just one scene where, as one publication put it "Jessica Lange overheats in the kitchen". Actually, neither she nor Jack Nicholson even show any nudity. It happens in the first part of the movie, so anyone watching it hoping for more than that will be disappointed.

The original couldn't show anything remotely like that, of course. I wish it could have been a little more realistic in its depiction of the seduction and aftermath, so I couldn't help wishing that the movie could have been made under less restrictive conditions. While I agree that it is good, having seen the remake, the original felt too neutered.Chip Laryhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00787403805554027107noreply@blogger.com
