It is just too far out.
TSorensenhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12208153011927807857noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3166297507174717122.post-66678043089228546732013-05-15T18:07:22.662-05:002013-05-15T18:07:22.662-05:00I wouldn't be surprised if it's a better f...I wouldn't be surprised if it's a better film than I gave it credit for being. Of the roughly 150 films not available via Netflix that I had to track down, I've seen about 130 and this is the one that I liked the best. Now, that's not saying it's a wonderful movie - I gave it three stars out of five, but it's more saying that a lot of those 150 movies are unavailable for a reason - because they suck. The fact that this one didn't was a pleasant surprise for me.

I agree that this can sometimes be seen as a very dark comedy. I liked that it was showing all the different agendas - blind faith, organized religion, the press, a spouse, and a businessman are all ultimately selfish and out for themselves even though they like to portray themselves as great things or great people.

To me, this was a very subversive take on all of the things that "good people" are supposed to strive for. This was the ultimate bit of dark humor for me - that religion, marriage, hard work, fame, etc. all combine to destroy a good man who would have been far better off without all of them.Chip Laryhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00787403805554027107noreply@blogger.com
