If you're in it for the visuals, I get it (and Suspiria has one of the all-time great soundtracks).

It's just...so much of the stories feel like they've been cobbled out of parts of other films.SJHoneywellhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13550007053995112090noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3166297507174717122.post-34334542297407763762020-02-03T15:09:27.195-06:002020-02-03T15:09:27.195-06:00The only Argento film I've seen so far is Susp...The only Argento film I've seen so far is Suspiria which is just fucking awesome. I do want to see this as I hear it's one of his more essential films.thevoid99https://www.blogger.com/profile/03055459287396592446noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3166297507174717122.post-5502761802135639492020-02-03T09:28:43.230-06:002020-02-03T09:28:43.230-06:00I don't want to imply that Italian horror movi...I don't want to imply that Italian horror movies are bad, because many of them are not. There is a sense, though, with the movies of people like Argento, Bava, and Fulci, that the movie started with the desire to film a particular scene, and then the movie was created to get them to that scene, coherent or not. However, I think I may have seen one when I was a kid: a film called "Tentacles," starring a dude who looked a lot like Jerry Reed (Bo Hopkins). I was only a kid when I saw it, so I can't vouch for how coherent the story might be. At a guess, it was a rip-off of "Jaws," with the creature-villain being a ridiculously giant octopus. Even as a kid, I had trouble taking the film seriously because of that silly musical score.Kevin Kimhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01328790917314282058noreply@blogger.com
