Dizzy gillespie rules and it gives you something to listen to when the movie gets dull.TSorensenhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12208153011927807857noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3166297507174717122.post-91685214342958639132013-06-25T08:01:17.700-05:002013-06-25T08:01:17.700-05:00I have the same ability with German. My French is at the point of asking for the check and getting directions to the bathroom.

The Cool World is sort of a film that you "get around to" rather than discover a burning desire to watch. It feels like a 100 minute shrug.SJHoneywellhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13550007053995112090noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3166297507174717122.post-20270839739479994132013-06-24T18:09:36.565-05:002013-06-24T18:09:36.565-05:00I just got done watching this. I figured I would in a day or two, then never got around to it until now.

Despite your self-deprecating remarks I really couldn't have said any more than you did in your post. It's an important film for when it was made and who is in it, but that's about it.

I agree on the amateur presentation. I also had a lot of trouble with the audio, to the point that I was actually picking up some missed words from the embedded French subtitles. I can't read French to the point of picking up a novel, but I recognize some words. The score was actually overpowering the dialogue sometimes.Chip Laryhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00787403805554027107noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3166297507174717122.post-44549827339691580332013-05-25T17:29:32.197-05:002013-05-25T17:29:32.197-05:00You can't tell me that you wouldn't have r...You can't tell me that you wouldn't have rather watched a documentary on Dizzy Gillespie, can you?SJHoneywellhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13550007053995112090noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3166297507174717122.post-83086408598298323892013-05-25T16:10:59.520-05:002013-05-25T16:10:59.520-05:00I get so excited about finally getting my hands on...I get so excited about finally getting my hands on some of the hard-to-locate films from The Book, and then when I watch them, I more often than not just feel a bit blank. That's how I felt with this one. OK, fine, I get where it's going, but... that's about it.

"I’d have rather watched jazz."

that made me laugh.siochembiohttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11487373396181856763noreply@blogger.com
