Sometimes I forget that films are a product of their own time, and while films often push boundaries, it's difficult to remember sometimes that we're past what the boundaries used to be. We live in a world in which a film like <i>Brokeback Mountain</i> is no longer seen as an aberration. However, you rarely ever had a mainstream film with an openly gay man back then, especially even winning an Oscar.
