I've never really shied away from gore, but when it seems like it's there just to be there, I wonder what the point is. I don't really know, but it's a hell of a good point.SJHoneywellhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13550007053995112090noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3166297507174717122.post-90579566383120501862017-05-23T09:37:06.972-05:002017-05-23T09:37:06.972-05:00Think I watched 20 min, I liked the music and as y...Think I watched 20 min, I liked the music and as you say it is important for the found footage genre.
At some point a guy starts killing an animal which was when I turned it off. I didn't even get to the cannibalistic scenes (thank god)Chrishttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09395044055566348346noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3166297507174717122.post-86668567390995107632017-05-23T09:00:43.638-05:002017-05-23T09:00:43.638-05:00Yep, seen it once and once was enough. I never criticized Coppola for doing it in Apocalypse Now. I don't know, interesting thought.Alex Withrowhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15887018476048271594noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3166297507174717122.post-10129307189678696562017-05-20T12:23:58.396-05:002017-05-20T12:23:58.396-05:00Yes to everything you've just said. It's an unpleasant sit and it's not something I'd look forward to doing again, but I feel a need to respect it kind of in the same way I respect Blood Feast. The fact that it exists is kind of amazing. But I can't really say that I like it. I've actually seen it twice, which I'm sure some people would say is two times more than necessary, and personally I think it's just about well enough made for me to treat it with a certain degree of respect; it's not just an exploitative piece of shit like Cannibal Ferox, its nearest imitator/competitor. But it is HUGELY exploitative, and I totally understand other viewers finding it beyond the pale. It's still pretty puke-inducing in a way that most "controversial" horror films of that period probably aren't any more.James Rhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02458973377509956909noreply@blogger.com
