I agree, the story is pretty basic, but I was just overjoyed to see something so thoughtfully designed.Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03288833179709873110noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3166297507174717122.post-63605245220487381542014-02-13T16:56:00.980-06:002014-02-13T16:56:00.980-06:00The song is great in no small part because it was ...The song is great in no small part because it was sung in Irish Gaelic. Even if it weren't it would be good, but the foreignness of the language adds an otherworldly quality to it.SJHoneywellhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13550007053995112090noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3166297507174717122.post-16742507577400935162014-02-13T16:27:39.814-06:002014-02-13T16:27:39.814-06:00I liked the artwork in this, too. I also like the song that was sung to the cat by the faerie girl.Chip Laryhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00787403805554027107noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3166297507174717122.post-31493963643969046212014-02-13T14:40:32.636-06:002014-02-13T14:40:32.636-06:00I think it's a film that bears watching very c...I think it's a film that bears watching very closely. There are a few places in it where I rewound to look at the artwork again. I admit that I think the art is better than the animation, but I'm also of the opinion that this doesn't matter that much. I'd be almost as happy looking a single frame of this and studying it as I was watching the story unfold.

For what it's worth, I'll join you in proselytizing this one.SJHoneywellhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13550007053995112090noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3166297507174717122.post-89331382629794947472014-02-13T10:44:05.611-06:002014-02-13T10:44:05.611-06:00Well this was a nice surprise. I've loved this film since back when it was released, and have tried to champion it to those interested in non-traditional animated films, with a small degree of success. Not enough in my book, though; this really needs to be seen by more people, though that runs the risk of too many of them not appreciating it because, as you pointed out, it's not the vanguard of evolved and revolutionized 3D animation of today. I metaphorically poured some out for my childhood when Disney reneged on their promise to keep featuring traditional-style animated films like The Princess and the Frog, so to have this little hidden gem of a film is at least a nice consolation.Adolytsihttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12266038228108057617noreply@blogger.com
