Still, ...I must've found a different trailer.

Still, there are plenty of old trailers that are pretty spoilerific. But the trailer shows one of the characters plummeting out a window on a high floor! What the hell? Admittedly, the term spoilers hadn't been invented yet, but come on!Ipecachttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15157560182505626755noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3166297507174717122.post-41256146417086559812017-03-03T11:34:04.309-06:002017-03-03T11:34:04.309-06:00I didn't see that as a swipe on Black. And while Bette loved to chew some scenery, there were few who could do it with the bizarre gusto of Oliver Reed. Honestly, I was mostly interested in seeing this because of the incredibly weird confluence of those three personalities.

I'd kind of love to see a behind-the-scenes on everything Bette Davis ever did. It was a relief in a way that she was given the chance to play a character she could shade a bit and she for the most part is positively pushed to the side by the rantings of Oliver Reed and bizarre weirdness of Karen Black.

That's not meant to be a swipe at Karen Black, she was always an odd, quirky presence in her movies but the way the filmmakers exploit her crossed eyes and general air of peculiarity really spotlight those qualities.

I did notice that she and Bette shared little onscreen time, they did NOT hit it off behind the scenes with Bette opening speaking of both Black & Reed's lack of professionalism, Reed was drunk almost continually & Black imperious and high-handed, but Davis had taken the role strictly for the loot and apparently made life a living hell for all involved during the filming. Now the filming of all that would have made a fun movie!joel65913https://www.blogger.com/profile/14526657073681774683noreply@blogger.com
