The Birdcage is a lo...It's not just the comedy. <i>The Birdcage</i> is a lot sweeter and more heartfelt as well. The scene on the park bench when Albin/Albert has stormed out and is going to visit his cemetery is such a grand scene in <i>The Birdcage</i>. It's the one that really demonstrates the depth of the relationship between Armand and Albert. In <i>La Cage aux Folles</i>, the scene is short and doesn't go anywhere emotionally.<br /><br />I tend to expect the original to be better than the remake, but this is a case where I'm sticking with the remake for every aspect of the film.
