Anton Yelchin is a clear miss on my part.

I also like Crimson Peak more than its reputation--but I like Hiddleston better in High Rise, which is likely due to the fact that I love the source material. My dad was a fan of his and was happy he won as he did like the film as well. Tom Courtenay should've been nominated instead of... ugh... Eddie Redmayne as I hated that performance and that film. That was Oscar-bait at its worst and that performance never came across as authentic but rather "look at me, I'm playing a delicate little flower".

Other actors I felt that should've been mentioned and were overlooked are: Tom Hardy-Mad Max: Fury Road, Tom Hiddleston-Crimson Peak (I love that film), Karl Glusman-Love, Anton Yelchin-Green Room, Christian Bale-Knight of Cups, Geza Rohrig-Son of Saul, Ryan Reynolds and Ben Mendelsohn-Mississippi Grind, Joaquin Phoenix-Irrational Man (a rare film of Woody Allen my dad liked), Arnold Schwarzenegger-Maggie, and Jake Gyllenhaal-Demolition.thevoid99https://www.blogger.com/profile/03055459287396592446noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3166297507174717122.post-73830971278625949952020-06-02T00:14:40.250-05:002020-06-02T00:14:40.250-05:00"Sylvester Stallone got a deserved supporting..."Sylvester Stallone got a deserved supporting nomination for Creed, but Michael B. Jordan was completely ignored."

Truer words were never written. I'd been following Jordan since the quirky superhero movie "Chronicle," and I thought he was excellent in that. (Doesn't hurt to have a name that reminds people of a great basketball player, either.)Kevin Kimhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01328790917314282058noreply@blogger.com
