There's something about those Gothic Corman/Price collaborations that I enjoy, even when they are cheap and cheesy. The effects are woeful and better ones would enhance the scares of the film but that ramshackle feeling is so indigenous to these films it would change how they are perceived. <br /><br />Price is obviously having a great time playing both a reasonable man and his evil descendant and I can think of no actor better suited by both his presence and demeanor to these movies.
