He's just not in it that much, and his role is clearly a supporting one rather than a lead.SJHoneywellhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13550007053995112090noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3166297507174717122.post-31388528121585967302017-02-15T08:57:11.146-06:002017-02-15T08:57:11.146-06:00This is coming up real soon in my rotation. I don't understand her lack of nomination.

I agree completely on Stockwell. I like Dean Stockwell as much or more than the next person, but this was not a film he belonged in. I also agree that this one is a one-and-done. I see no need to revisit it. Be that as it may I thought the film was okay, if downbeat and somewhat creepy, but once was enough.

Wendy Hiller was as usual very fine but I had sought this out for Mary Ure. I had seen her in Where Eagles Dare and liked her performance though it didn't offer her much to work with, and since this was her most acclaimed it seemed a good starting place. I liked her work here as well Look Back in Anger. Unfortunately she didn't do much else on film before dying by her own hand at 42.joel65913https://www.blogger.com/profile/14526657073681774683noreply@blogger.com
