Wow. He was someone who I "appreciated" because, well...samurai! But now, having watched half a dozen or so of his films, I see that the samurai may often be his muse, but they aren't where his genius lies.SJHoneywellhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13550007053995112090noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3166297507174717122.post-51791423846184729022010-11-17T13:04:22.402-06:002010-11-17T13:04:22.402-06:00Since bringing "The Book" into my house,...Since bringing "The Book" into my house, I have learned so much about Kurosawa. I knew of his adaptation of the 87th Precinct novel with "High And Low" but did not realize how much more he had created. Of his NON-SAMURAI films, so far I have seen "Ikiru", "Sanshiro Sugata", "Drunken Angel", "Dreams" (which may be one of my most favored just for visual eye-candy and Scorsese's portrayal of Vincent Van Gogh) and "Rhapsody In August". So many more out there, I think my next will either be his crime drama "Stray Dog" or "The Most Beautiful" his look at life in Japan during WWII.Ken Loarhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17207009680910318145noreply@blogger.com
