I don't usually jump on the remake bandwagon, but it's been 80 years and there's more than enough story there to make it worthwhile for a new generation.SJHoneywellhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13550007053995112090noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3166297507174717122.post-78272646290662631422014-12-31T00:18:54.978-06:002014-12-31T00:18:54.978-06:00Add me to the list of fans for Grand Hotel. I have a lot more respect for it than that, and would have loved for it to keep going. The whole intertwining of stories with the possibility of whole new stories to come was fascinating to me.SJHoneywellhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13550007053995112090noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3166297507174717122.post-17481010669361819782014-12-30T21:58:20.332-06:002014-12-30T21:58:20.332-06:00Who doesn't like Grand Hotel? (Which I didn't finish until this year.) And I was really surprised by how much I enjoyed it. It's just got such a great cast.

It's not one I watch a lot but I got it from Netflix three or four years ago to see it again and I've been known to watch bits of it when it's on cable.

I'm fine with never watching Romance. I'm probably about due for watching Mata Hari, which I watch every three or four years. I liked Queen Christina quite a bit, and I love Ninotchka. I especially love the stone-faced Garbo in the first half of that film.

I can't recommend Romance unless you really can't get enough of Garbo.SJHoneywellhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13550007053995112090noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3166297507174717122.post-73668834894419522592014-12-29T23:26:54.855-06:002014-12-29T23:26:54.855-06:00I adore Garbo but I've never seen this one. I love Mata Hari, Anna Christie, Queen Christina, Ninotchka and Grand Hotel.

But there's a couple of her movies that I had trouble sitting through. Flesh and the Devil was one of them. I can't remember the name of the other but it was a lot like Flesh and the Devil. So I tend to stay away from her movies if they look like they're going to be like Flesh and the Devil.

And Romance sounds a lot like Flesh and the Devil. It might be the one that I saw whose name I can't remember.Tonyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17921029597363212734noreply@blogger.com
