Can't fault you for choosing Lee though. As I said above, Crouching Tiger is probably the only one of the five nominations I would keep. I'd round out the list with Requiem, Memento, American Psycho, and probably In the Mood for Love.

We might still ultimately disagree on the winner, but it would be a much better list.SJHoneywellhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13550007053995112090noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3166297507174717122.post-87128382261243612682017-12-16T01:05:24.712-06:002017-12-16T01:05:24.712-06:00So many different ways to go as there are some ama...So many different ways to go as there are some amazing movies from this year. Of the noms, I could go either way between Traffic and Crouching Tiger as far as directing. On the other hand, I think Memento and Requiem for a Dream are both better directed films. So, the actual list of noms is a bigger fail than the winner.Dellhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05634519605152190304noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3166297507174717122.post-70186657828684899412017-12-15T12:10:12.453-06:002017-12-15T12:10:12.453-06:00Yeah, I kind of agree. I like the story of Gladiator pretty well, but the film itself is one that I don't pick up that often. Crouching Tiger is a masterclass on how to film action.
