It's one that I think of at odd moments. And I do love that Alloy Orchestra soundtrack. It's been years since I've seen this, but I remember it vividly.SJHoneywellhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13550007053995112090noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3166297507174717122.post-40025818587969474192015-11-01T21:57:23.067-06:002015-11-01T21:57:23.067-06:00I'm not going to do that again. And, though both of them together are about the same running time as King Kong, it sure felt a lot longer than King Kong!

I liked Smiling Madame Beudet well enough, but The Man with the Movie Camera got to be a bot much. I was appreciating it at times, for a few minutes here and there, and I honestly do see what the big deal is. Especially with the Alloy Orchestra score! But I found my mind wandering too much to really enjoy it like I probably should have.

I normally love these ancient Russian films, like Strike and the End of St. Petersburg.

I highly recommend Chess Fever! Has anybody seen that? Almost 100 years later and the Russians still haven't made another movie like Chess Fever. The main guy is the Russian Harold Lloyd. That should make you curious enough to seek it out and watch it!Tonyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17921029597363212734noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3166297507174717122.post-16704301769178272842012-06-05T15:33:07.447-05:002012-06-05T15:33:07.447-05:00It is a reason I do this. The joy of following The List is finding these gems that I would have never seen otherwise.SJHoneywellhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13550007053995112090noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3166297507174717122.post-58851081618607426282012-06-05T14:17:35.263-05:002012-06-05T14:17:35.263-05:00This is one of the highlights from the book so far...This is one of the highlights from the book so far. Such a differennt experience.
I am quite impressed that you can multitask while watching movies, it never works for me. But this is maybe a movie where it makes sense. There is no story to follow and with the excellent soundtrack it is more like a state of mind.
I saw it again last weekend and it will not be the last time.TSorensenhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12208153011927807857noreply@blogger.com
