At the moment, I sit at 207 films to go, which should get me done a few weeks before or after the next edition of the book comes out. I wouldn't be surprised with significant, wholesale changes in the next edition--perhaps four or five dozen film replacements. It is, after all, the 10th edition, and a bigger splash wouldn't shock me. There is some deadwood that could use chopping.
Of course, I'm hoping this doesn't happen. I don't want to get to the end only to have to add several more months to the quest. But if it happens, it happens, and I'll plow through. Unless there are changes to the book in three figures, I'll still finish by the end of this year. On to February!
I only did 20 this month, as I explained in my own status post. If I've got it right, you've only got seven entries longer than 2.5 hours left to do. Are you thinking of knocking those out, or was it the 3 hour mark that was the real achievement you cared about?
ReplyDeleteYou'll obviously pass 900 films early next month. If I have a smaller month like Janaury I won't, but if I go back to larger amounts like the end of 2012 I'll pass it in February, too. With me doing all the Oscar nominated and 2012 films, though, I think February will be a lot like January for me.
I have the same math--seven films longer than 2 1/2 hours to go. I don't know that I'll get them all in February, but I should get some of them. After all, I did knock out of few of that relative length in January. I always try to knock out a couple of the longest films left, just to give me an additional sense of accomplishment.
ReplyDeleteFor me, since I'm really starting to get into the countdown, I'm more excited when I pass milestones in the other direction. Having 200 left, which will also happen early next month, is a moment I'm looking forward to.
